Today, like one petal opening,
I will set loose one fear,
I will stretch around the spot
where the fear used to be
and see what it’s like to own that
part of me again.
Today, like water after a rain
laying on warm bricks when
the sun comes out, I will
evaporate just one of
the fears. I am a little timid
creature and the thought of
all these fears at once is
smothering, but just one small
fear at a time,
well, that’s something I might do.
