My words fall into emptiness
I watch as silence rises again
I watch as it envelops us
Words drip like tiny colored beads that
flash as they dissolve, as they
touch the acid at the bottom,
as they are eaten by it, leaving no trace
My words are fragile and few
I do not risk them heedlessly
Are you afraid to hear the words
are you afraid to taste the truth
you turn away
you criticize
safe in your denial
