How easy to slip back into this
dream of you, like old pajamas,
it’s comfortable, I wear it
so easily. The dream isn’t pretty –
it’s threadbare and worn and I
don’t really want people to see it. I wear
it at home in front of the tv
curled up with the dog, when I
can be myself, be honest and not
pretend I have things like
self respect.
